Who we are

What we collect

When you submit a quote brief through this website or get in touch by email or phone, we collect the personal information you provide:

• Your name, email address, and phone number.
• Pickup and drop-off addresses for the move.
• Your target moving date and any notes about scope.
• For booked moves: any further information needed to scope and run the move, including specialist items, insurance declarations, and (on international moves) customs documentation.

We don't collect bank or payment information through this website; payment for booked moves is arranged separately through bank transfer once the written quote has been accepted.

How we use it

• To respond to your move brief or enquiry. Your contact details and the brief are used by the MTC team to respond, scope, and quote the move.
• To deliver booked moves. Addresses, scope notes, and any move-specific information are used by the team running the move.
• For customs documentation on international moves. Information is shared with HMRC, the destination country's customs authority, and any sub-processor required to clear the goods through customs.
• For insurance and claims. If there's a claim during transit, the relevant information is shared with our goods-in-transit insurer.
• For internal record-keeping. A record of the move is held for accounting, legal, and tax purposes for the period required by UK law.

Lawful basis

We process your information on the basis of: (a) your consent when you submit the quote brief or contact us; (b) the necessity of processing for a contract (the move) where you've signed the written quote; and (c) legal obligation for tax and customs documentation.

Who sees it

• The MTC team handling your move and the operational and admin staff supporting them.
• HMRC and destination-country customs authorities, where required for international moves.
• Our goods-in-transit and public liability insurer in the event of a claim.
• Trusted technology providers who host the website, handle form submissions, and send email — operating under written data-processing agreements.

We don't sell or share your information with marketers, referral aggregators, or any third party for purposes unrelated to your move.

Retention

Quote-only enquiries that don't lead to a booked move are retained for the time it takes to reply and a reasonable follow-up period (typically a few months). Booked-move records are retained for the period required by UK accounting, tax, and customs law — generally seven years from the move date.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you have the right to: ask what information we hold about you; ask for inaccurate information to be corrected; ask for it to be deleted (subject to our legal retention obligations); object to processing in certain circumstances; and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office. This website uses minimal cookies. Essential cookies handle session state for the quote form. We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which pages are visited; this is aggregate and doesn't identify individual visitors.
